So, I went off after my last journal entry and tried to do a bunch of stuff I've never done before. Well, that was nice. And I produced a lot of stuff for my neighborhood recycling program. Just about everything was lousy.... I branched out a bit and learned about my limitations. That was cool, if a bit uncomfortable.

I struggle with imaginative work. I really like a lot of the fantasy and sci-fi stuff. But every time I sit down to do something, it ends up being something I've seen before. Or it ends up being an excuse to paint a pinup -- in which case I could just dispense with all the sci-fi crap and get down to the painting of the girl. So, imagination is not my strong suit.

Well, I finally got back to doing what I enjoy the most. I just put up a digital pinup I worked on intermittently over the last two weeks. I just scanned something in from my sketchbook and started painting. I was able to get something I liked just pecking at it 15 - 20 minute at a time. This is what's brilliant about digital art! No set up, clean up, etc, but just getting right in and right out of what you're doing.
